Ingredients

  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk A rich base for your fudge.
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder Adds a deep chocolate flavor.
  • 1 tbsp salted butter Enhances creaminess and taste.
  • 1 cup grated chocolate or chocolate sprinkles For decoration and added texture.
  • 20 strawberries The adorable bodies of your mice.
  • roasted peanuts For the ears; alternatives include sliced almonds, sunflower kernels, or pine nuts.
  • colored shaped sprinkles To add a festive touch to your creation.

Method

  1. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, and salted butter. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and well combined, ensuring there are no lumps of cocoa powder left behind.
  2. Once the mixture has reached a smooth consistency, gradually fold in the grated chocolate or chocolate sprinkles until fully incorporated. Continue stirring until the fudge thickens slightly, which should take about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove the fudge from heat and let it cool slightly before using it to coat each strawberry. Dip each strawberry into the warm fudge allowing it to coat thoroughly before placing it on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. While the fudge is still soft, gently press roasted peanuts or your chosen alternatives into the top of each coated strawberry to create mouse ears. Finally, decorate them with colored shaped sprinkles to give each mouse its own personality.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about an hour or until the fudge has set firmly around each strawberry mouse. Once chilled, they are ready to serve at your spooky celebration!
