Begin by boiling a large pot of salted water and cook your spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about one cup of pasta water before draining the pasta.
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the chopped thick-cut bacon and cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
While the bacon is cooking, whisk together the room temperature eggs and freshly grated Parmesan cheese in a bowl until well combined. Add freshly cracked black pepper to taste.
Once the pasta is cooked and drained, quickly add it to the skillet with crispy bacon while it's still hot, then pour in the egg and cheese mixture while tossing vigorously.
Slowly add reserved pasta water as needed to reach your desired consistency for the sauce.
Serve your Classic Bacon Carbonara Pasta hot, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese and more cracked black pepper if desired.
