  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil in a spray bottle

Instructions

  1. Prepare the onion by cutting off the top and peeling it. Make 16 evenly spaced cuts around the onion to create petals.
  2. Allow the onion to relax for 5 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, and water.
  4. Coat the onion first with the flour mixture, then dip it into the egg wash before re-coating with flour.
  5. Chill the coated onion for additional crispiness while preheating your air fryer to 350°F.
  6. Spray generously with oil and cook in the air fryer for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
